Outcome:		When police arrived, the found the body of the burglar in the front yard; he apparently didn't make it very far before dying. No one else was injured by the gunfire. The resident has not been charged with any crime

Description of Good Guy(s):		Unnamed, armed homeowner, who returned home and confronted a burglar inside his home. Fearing for his life, the homeowner shot at the intruder, which caused him to flee.
Type of Gun Used:		Handgun
Outcome:		The burglar fled to his car and drove away, but crashed into a fence a short distance away and was pronounced dead at the scene from a single gunshot wound to the chest. No one else was injured by the gunfire. The homeowner has not been charged with any crime. Police believe that Johnson may be linked to at least two other recent burglaries in the area. This armed citizen may have stopped a crime spree.

77 Year Old Man Shoots Armed Burglar Who Runs Off, Forgetting His Car Keys; Hilarity Ensues

Description of Bad Guy(s):		Travis Weddle, armed, broke into a home and was stealing a tv when he woke up the homeowner
Description of Good Guy(s):		John Lewis, 77, was asleep but heard an intruder in his home. When he went to investigate, Weddle threatened him to go back to bed or he'd shoot him. Lewis closed his bedroom door, retrieved his handgun, and returned, shooting three times at Weddle, hitting him twice

Outcome:		Weddle ran out, but realized that he left his car keys inside. He came back and yelled that he left his car keys. Lewis called police and Weddle decided to walk, making it about a mile before he called police to report that he'd been shot. No one else was injured by the gunfire. Police told Lewis that he did the right thing and will not be charged with any crime

Waiting for Police, Homeowner Forced to Shoot at Three Burglars at Back Door; Hits One

Description of Bad Guy(s):		Three unidentified burglars (One has now been identified as 19 year old Jephte Madeus) who knocked on the front door and when no one answered, went around to the back and tried to pull the back door open. Madeus was armed with a STOLEN handgun
Description of Good Guy(s):		Unnamed high school student, who had already called police, but when police didn't show up in time and he feared they might be armed and what would happen if they got inside, he shot through the back door, hitting one of the burglars, another teenager, in the arm

Outcome:		All three burglars ran and drove to a local hospital, where they were all apprehended; Madeus has been charged with attempted burglary and grand theft possessing a stolen firearm. No one else was injured in the gunfire. The homeowner has not been charged with any crime
